Artist Bio – Marijana Mussell
Art has always been my passion in one way or another.
With my children I was always creating some craft or another. For many years I pursued Mosaics and teaching mosaics at Prospect Gallery. I then went on to coordinating the program “art at Hindmarsh” when I worked for the Charles Sturt Council.
I have recently exhibited my work at the West Lakes library in my first solo exhibition. Titled Streetscapes and More. I have exhibited in various Sala events and sold paintings at these venues.
I have completed various workshops such as palette knife portrait painting, drawing, to name a few.
I have made jewellery with polymer clay and finally about 6 years ago I started painting. Since retiring from
my library work I have been painting in earnest.
I attend a weekly painting class at grange with Ann Cirillo.
I enjoy the vibrancy and imagination that painting endorses. I also love collage and mixed media.I am most alive when I am creating something and really sense Gods’ pleasure when I paint.
I am inspired by the colours in nature.
The variety of artistic styles is amazing as each person brings their own style to the gallery.
I guess I would class my style as a modern impressionism
